NEW UPDATE Winter 1999 |
|
Hello to all the SMAG members - all 91 of you! This note is to let you know what’s been happening, and give you a chance to comment on the constitution we’ve drawn up.
NEWS NEWS NEWS:... At a recent meeting, the council decided "they would prefer" the Springfield Mill / GlenEsk House site to become a Wildlife site.
This is excellent news! We have six months to get written offers of funding. The committee will shortly be focusing our efforts in this direction.
On behalf of everyone in SMAG, I’d like to thank the committee members, for preparing the case we put to the council, and now the councillors themselves for giving us the chance to make our vision a reality.
Thank you too, for your support. As you will read in the "bullet point" summary; it has been important to show the council how much local interest there is.
I hope you find the constitution makes sense. We are using it to apply for charitable status. If you think there is something that needs to be changed, please contact Joan Acton [660 2065] as soon as possible. We are aiming to have it adopted by 1st Feb 2000.
Very Best Wishes for Christmas & The New Year
Pete Cain - Convenor
