NEWSFLASH
Midlothian Council has been awarded £182,000 for work on Springfield Mill, as part of a Scottish Executive initiative to clean up derelict sites across Scotland.
This means the basic work to deal with any contamination, knock down the remaining building and spread the rubble, should now be able to go ahead!
After putting in such a lot of time and effort to get us through the two public inquiries, it is great to think we’ll soon actually be able to see the site being sorted site out.
ACTIVITY IN 2003
We hope to work with the council, as they plan and implement the “phase 1” clean up. We’ll then be able to pick up with the planting and other work. Expect to hear from us again in the New Year!
